Nava Nabs DAC Hitter of Week Honor

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Isaiah Nava was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

A freshman infielder from Pasadena, Texas, Nava hit for the cycle in the second game of a three-game sweep of Dallas College Cedar Valley last week. He batted .428, going 6-for-14 with three doubles, a triple, a home run, three runs batted in, six runs scored, a walk and a stolen base, playing in only the three-game series as the Bears went 3-1 last week. Nava was 4-for-5, hitting for the cycle, in the 13-9 Game 2 victory. He had multiple hits in two of the three games, including a pair of doubles in the 14-10 series finale victory.

Nava is hitting .348 with a home run, eight doubles, two triples, 10 RBI and 12 stolen bases this season.

Brookhaven (15-17, 6-6 DAC) hosts Dallas College Mountain View (11-17, 1-11) Wednesday at noon to begin the final series of the first half of conference play. The final two games of the series are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Mountain View.
