Brookhaven Collects 8 All-DAC Honors
DALLAS – Dallas College Brookhaven baseball's Philip Orr, Oliver Overlin, Clayten Mixon and Noah Ferraro earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.
Bears teammates Isaiah Nava, Bradley Boedeker, Christian Jaquay and Nathan Jacobson received Second Team All-DAC awards.
A sophomore outfielder who hails from The Woodlands, Texas, Orr hit .375 with 13 doubles, four triples, four home runs, 42 runs batted in and 32 stolen bases. He had 26 multi-hit games, including a season-high four at Dallas College North Lake.
A freshman right-handed pitcher from Frisco, Texas, Overlin went 10-3 with one save, a 2.96 earned run average and 63 strikeouts in 18 appearances, including eight starts. He recorded five straight wins, including a victory at No. 3 Dallas College Eastfield when he did not yield an earned run in five innings of work.
A freshman right-handed pitcher from Baytown, Texas, Mixon went 8-1 with a 3.71 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 17 appearances, including seven starts. He picked up his eighth win in four innings of shutout relief when the Bears beat No. 3 Eastfield to begin a three-game sweep of the final regular season series.
A sophomore right-handed pitcher from League City, Texas, Ferraro had 2.06 ERA, while picking up a win and a save and striking out 37 batters in 52.1 innings. He did not surrender a run in nine of his 18 appearances.
A sophomore second baseman from Pasadena, Texas, Nava hit .348 with 14 doubles, a triple, six home runs, 39 RBI and 23 stolen bases. He had 22 multi-hit games, including a season-high five in a win over Dallas College Cedar Valley.
A freshman utility player from College Station, Texas, Boedeker batted .353 with 19 doubles, two triples, four homers, 36 RBI and 14 stolen bases. He had multiple hits in 17 games, including a season-high four in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament win over Dallas College Mountain View.
A freshman right-handed pitcher from Katy, Texas, Jaquay had a win and two saves, a 3.16 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 37 innings. He did not allow a run in 15 of his 23 appearances.
A sophomore right-handed pitcher from Sugar Land, Texas, Jacobson went 6-1 with two saves, a 4.29 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 56.2 innings. He did not surrender a run in seven of his 19 appearances.
