Mixon Chosen as DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Clayten Mixon was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

It is the second time he's received the honor this season.

A sophomore right-hander from Baytown, Texas, Mixon pitched the final five shutout innings of a 5-1 win at No. 5 Dallas College North Lake, allowing two hits and no walks, while fanning four in the 17 batters he faced. Mixen, who took the ball after starter Blake Ward went the first four innings of the win, helped the Bears win the series to pull even with North Lake for second place in the Dallas Athletic Conference.

Following Monday's nonconference game at Northeast Texas Community College, the Bears (17-21, 10-8 DAC) is scheduled to begin a three-game series at home against Dallas College Richland Wednesday.
