Shaquille Thomas was named head baseball coach at Dallas College Brookhaven in 2022.

Brookhaven went 34-26 overall, 20-10 in the Dallas Athletic Conference in 2025. It was the program's most wins in six years. The Bears advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District semifinals. Four Bears earned First Team All-DAC honors, while four others received Second Team All-DAC awards. 

In 2024, Thomas steered the Bears to a third place finish in the DAC and a trip to the NJCAA Division III South Central District Tournament. Brookhaven went 26-28 overall, 16-14 in the DAC. Four Bears earned First Team All-DAC honors, while three others were second team choices. 

Thomas guided Brookhaven to the South Central District Tournament in 2023. The Bears produced two All-Dallas Athletic Conference selections.

While serving as interim head coach, Thomas guided the Bears to a 24-20 record in 2022, advancing to the South Central District Tournament. 

Thomas served as the Bears assistant baseball coach in 2020 and 2021. Brookhaven was ranked as high as No. 3 in the NJCAA DIII rankings in 2020 and 2021. The Bears won the DAC championship in 2021 with a 32-7 overall, 30-5 league record. Brookhaven advanced to the South District West Division championship game. The Bears were in first place in the conference in 2020 with an 18-6 overall, 9-2 DAC record when COVID-19 cut the season short.
