Brookhaven Men's Basketball Helps Out with Food Pantry
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team donated food, water and clothes to the campus Food Pantry to begin the new school year.
The Bears have donated to the food pantry in head coach Chris McGill's seven years overseeing the program. The team has also volunteered its time to the campus food drive, feeding the homeless and needy by boxing goods, and assisting the distribution of meals.
"We feel these types of volunteer efforts are important because we all need to appreciate what we have," McGill said. "Not everyone is fortunate to have the necessities to live a healthy life."
The men's basketball is exploring the options of feeding the homeless, preparing meals for the needy and boxing goods for the less fortunate throughout the school year.
