Bears Men's Basketball Feed Homeless

DALLAS -- Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team, on two separate occassions this fall, visited The Stewpot in community service events.

The Stewpot is a non-profit organization that helps people in need. The Stewpot's mission is to offer the homeless and at-risk patrons of Dallas the basic necessities for survival and opportunities to start a new life.

Brookhaven players served food and water, along with clearing and cleaning tables.

According to players and coaches, it was a rewarding and special experience for all, and opens people's eyes to how tough life can be for others.

"Giving back and helping others is something we all need to do more of in today's world," Bears Head Coach Chris McGill said.
