Bears Trip up Suns for Second Conference Win

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team won its second Dallas Athletic Conference game of the season Wednesday night, beating host Dallas College Cedar Valley, 82-71.

Jeremy Roman scored 17 points, and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Bears (4-13, 2-1 DAC) won their second straight conference game. Zach Gomez and Emmanuel Tarpeh each scored 12 points for Brookhaven, which knocked down 12 of 26 three-point field goals, while holding Cedar Valley (5-8, 0-3) to 3 of 10 from long distance. Brandon Webber added 10 points and five boards. Gomez, Tarpeh and Webber each had four field goals.

Brookhaven built a 40-31 halftime lead, and outrebounded Cedar Valley, 41-23.

Luke Archibald finished with six points, six rebounds and five assists. Gomez added three steals and four assists, and Webber had five boards.

Cedar Valley's Tochi Anusiem scored 21 points, going 10 of 12 from the free throw line. He shot 50 percent from the field. Bryson Hill added 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Taishaun Livingston had 10 points and five rebounds.

The Bears assisted on 21 of their 29 field goals.

Brookhaven will host No. 11 Dallas College North Lake (4-11, 2-1) Saturday at 1 p.m. before finishing the first round of league play Wednesday at Dallas College Mountain View (5-10, 1-2).
