Bears Coast by Lions to End Round 1 of League Play

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team beat Dallas College Mountain View 101-71 Saturday to complete the first round of the Dallas Athletic Conference schedule. 

Brookhaven improved to 4-4 at home this season. Mountain View fell to 1-6 on the road. 

The Bears (8-12, 2-3 DAC) sprinted out to a 50-28 halftime lead. They shot a season-high 57.4 percent from the field, going 39 for 68. Brookhaven hit 6 of 11 three-point field goals. The Bears were 17 of 23 from the free throw line. 

The Lions (6-13, 1-4) hit 25 of 73 field goals for 34.2 percent. They were 9 of 29 from long distance, and went 12 for 21 at the free throw stripe. 

Anshuman Deora scored a career-high 22 points, and grabbed 10 rebounds for Brookhaven. He was 7 of 15 from the floor and 8 for 10 from the free throw line. Jeremy Roman finished with 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting, and had six rebounds. Tim Walker scored 18 points, and had five rebounds. He hit 8 of 14 shots from the floor. Jovan Danner had 15 points and seven boards, while knocking down 5 of 6 field goals. Luke Archibald had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.  

Mountain View's Kaden Richardson scored 22 points, canning 5 of 9 triples. Demondray Spencer had 13 points and four assists. Anthony Cook finished with 12 points and 10 boards. 

Brookhaven begins the second round of league play 6 p.m. Wednesday at home against No. 2 Dallas College Richland (12-6, 5-0).
