Men's Basketball Takes Win into Final Week of Regular Season

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team beat Dallas College Cedar Valley 75-69 Saturday to sweep the three-game season series.

Brookhaven improved to 11-17 overall, 5-8 in the Dallas Athletic Conference. The Bears will finish the regular season this week with a road game at Dallas College North Lake 6 p.m. Wednesday in the DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network before hosting Dallas College Mountain View 1 p.m. next Saturday.

The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 25-28, with the quarterfinals to be played at the site of the league's third place finisher before the semifinals and championship moves to Dallas College Richland, the DAC regular season champion. 

Jovan Danner scored 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting, and had six rebounds and two steals for the Bears, who shot 43.1 percent from the field. Anshuman Deora had 13 points, and matched his career high with 17 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. Jeremy Roman had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Deora and Roman both shot 5 of 10 from the floor.

Danner has scored over 20 points in four of the last six games. Deora recorded his sixth double-double of the season, with two coming against the Suns.

The Bears were 16 for 22 at the free throw line for 72.7 percent.

Luke Archibald finished with eight points, six assists and three steals. He was 4 for 4 at the free throw line. Tyler Targonski had seven points, five assists, a block and a steal.
