Jake Patin was named an assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College Brookhaven in 2023.

In 2025-26, Patin coached the Bears to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District championship game and a 14-19 overall record. The Bears won their first postseason game in nine years, beating Dallas College Cedar Valley in the district quarterfinals. The Bears upset No. 1 seed and Dallas Athletic Conference regular season champion Dallas College Richland in the South Central semifinals before bowing out in the championship game. 

Prior to Brookhaven, he spent a year training high school players in the Dallas area following his playing days. 

Patin played for a few months in Spain after finishing is college career at Austin College, where he played from 2019-22.
