Newbill Selected National Player of Week

Dallas College Brookhaven's Whitni Newbill (13) was named the United Soccer Coaches College National Player of the Week. She recorded her first career hat trick last week.

Dallas College Brookhaven's Whitni Newbill was selected as the United Soccer Coaches College National Player of the Week.

Newbill, a 5-foot-2 freshman forward from Austin, Texas, recorded her first career hat trick and an assist in an 8-0 win over Dallas College Eastfield. She also had a goal and an assist in a 7-0 win over Dallas College Mountain View.

Newbill, who scored the gamewinning goal in a 1-0 win over National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 4-ranked Dallas College Richland Tuesday night, has a team-leading 20 points this season. She has eight goals and four assists as the top-ranked Bears (7-0-1, 5-0-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) prepare for Friday's 6 p.m. home game against Dallas College North Lake.

A product of North Crowley High School, Newbill is tied for 12th in the NJCAA Division III in goals, ranks 16th in points, and is tied for 27th in assists.
