No. 2 Bears Begin League Play Friday
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer team will open Dallas Athletic Conference play 6 p.m. Friday when the No. 2 nationally-ranked Bears host Dallas College North Lake.
Brookhaven (1-2) fell from the top perch in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings to No. 2 this week. The Bears dropped a pair of games to the Nos. 2 and 3 teams in NJCAA Division II in Mississippi to open the month. North Lake enters the game 1-3-1.
Kaley Robison has two goals with both of her shots on goal finding their way to the back of the net. Sayer Taylor also has two goals for the two-time defending national champion Bears. Bailey Clark has spent 245 minutes in goal for Brookhaven, having been forced to move over from her sweeper position coming out of training camp. She has a 2.20 goals against average and 12 saves, and owns the lone Bears' win. Stephanie Bello has logged 25 minutes between the posts.
Friday's league opener signals the first of two at home for the Bears to begin conference play. They host Dallas College Eastfield Tuesday before taking their first road league trip to Dallas College Mountain View a week from Friday.
League play runs through Oct. 17 when Brookhaven will play at Dallas College Cedar Valley. The NJCAA Division III South District Tournament is set for Oct. 26-28.
