Perez Picked DAC Defensive Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer player Meah Perez was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

A sophomore defender from Grand Prairie, Texas, Perez helped the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 2 Bears pitch two shutouts last week. Brookhaven, who recorded their third straight clean sheet, outscored Dallas College Eastfield and Dallas College Mountain View a combined 8-0 – which included assists by Perez in each game. She had the gamewinning assist in the 2-0 victory over Eastfield and three more in a 6-0 win over Mountain View. She also put five of her 13 shots on goal during the week.

Perez has five assists in five starts this season.

Brookhaven (4-2-0, 3-0-0 DAC) will play at No. 5 Dallas College Richland (3-0-1, 2-0-0 DAC) 6 p.m. Tuesday.
