Bears Explode for 7 Goals, Lead DAC Early

DALLAS – Dallas College Brookhaven's second-ranked women's soccer team shut out No. 9 Dallas College Richland 7-0 Tuesday night in Dallas Athletic Conference action.

The Bears picked up their third straight shutout and fourth overall in dominating fashion.

Alyssa Young scored two goals, and assisted on another. Emma Stewart, Ava Little and Megan Garcia each had a goal and an assist. Ariana Chavira had two assists.

The Bears (4-1-2, 2-0-0 DAC) pounded 31 shots, including 12 on goal, and found the back of the net five times in the second half.

Stewart scored three minutes into the game on a double assist from Little and Young. Stephanie Lopez made it 2-0 when she converted a setup from Chavira in the 14th minute.

Brookhaven led 2-0 at the half. The Bears outshot Richland 12-2 in the first half.

Little scored in the 57th minute. Chavira and Garcia drew the assist. Eight minutes later, Garcia made it 4-0, scoring on assists from Daniela Bravo and Stewart.

Young scored two minutes apart in the 78th and 80th minutes. Natalia Banda had an assist on her first goal. Alexis Saenz capped the scoring with a goal in the 83rd minute. Brisa Hernandez and Amanda Rocha were credited with assists.

Brookhaven goalkeeper Miranda Estrada stopped two shots.

The Bears host Dallas College Cedar Valley (2-1-2, 0-1-1) at 6 p.m. Friday in their first conference home game.
