Garnica, Estrada Claim Final DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Justine Garnica and Miranda Estrada were named the final Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week this year.

Garnica earned the league's Player of the Week, while Estrada won the Goalkeeper of the Week.

A freshman midfielder from Grand Prairie, Texas, Garnica had a natural hat trick in Brookhaven's final regular season game. She scored on all three shots she attempted in the first half.

It was the second time this season Garnica earned the DAC Player of the Week. She has eight goals and four assists this season for 20 points. She has two gamewinning goals.

A freshman goalkeeper from The Colony, Texas, Estrada stopped one shot in an 8-0 shutout of Dallas College Mountain View to end the regular season. She played all 90 minutes.

It was the fourth time this year Estrada won the DAC Goalkeeper of the Week. She has a 12-1-2 record with seven solo shutouts and three combined clean sheets, a 0.53 goals against average and .821 saves percentage.

Brookhaven (12-1-2) will host Dallas College North Lake (2-8-5) in the NJCAA Division III South District semifinals 5 p.m. Monday. The game will be broadcast on TSBN.
