Austin, Ketner Earn All-America Honors
AVCA Two-Year College All-Americans
Dallas College Brookhaven's Ariel Austin collected two All-America awards, while teammate Jadyn Ketner received one.
Austin, a freshman outside hitter from North Crowley, Texas, was selected as a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III First Team All-American. She also was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College All-America Third Team.
Ketner, a freshman libero from The Woodlands, was picked as an NJCAA DIII Second Team All-American.
Austin finished second in kills (516) and eighth in kills per set (4.16) in the NJCAA Division III. She was second nationally in points (592). Austin had 20 or more kills in six matches, and recorded double-digit kills in 30. She had 467 digs, 67 blocks and 39 service aces.
Ketner was second in the country in digs (697), and had 58 aces. She had double-digit digs in all but one of the Bears' 35 matches. She recorded a season-best 30 digs in the NJCAA DIII national consolation match.
Brookhaven went 25-10, finishing third in the country.
