Jason Hopkins is a four-time National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national champion and five-time national runner-up as the Dallas College Brookhaven head volleyball coach. Following his 22nd season with the Bears in 2025, he had an overall record of 443-343, and 172-27 in the Dallas Athletic Conference and Metro Athletic Conference.

Through the 2025 season, Hopkins has coached 35 NJCAA Division III All-Americans.

A former assistant coach at Brookhaven in 2003, Hopkins took over the program in 2004, and promptly led the college to its first-ever NJCAA Division III national championship in any sport. In 2005, the Bears repeated as national champions. They became repeat champions again in 2008 and 2009.

Hopkins has coached his teams to the NJCAA Division III Final Four 14 times, most recently in 2025. The Bears won 12 consecutive MAC championships from 2004-15, with multiple undefeated seasons, advancing to the NJCAA Region V Tournament championship match in 16 straight seasons under Hopkins’ leadership. Hopkins guided the Bears to undefeated regular season DAC championships in the COVID 2020-21 and 2022 seasons.

In 2021, Hopkins was elected into the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Hopkins, the winningest coach in Brookhaven volleyball history, has been selected the NJCAA Division III National Coach of the Year four times and the NJCAA Region V Coach of the Year 11 times. He also was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Two-Year College Southwest Region Coach of the Year in 2009.

Hopkins holds the most NJCAA national volleyball titles (four) of any active NJCAA volleyball coach in the country.

Hopkins has served as the NJCAA representative to the AVCA Two-Year College Head Coaches Committee, as well as the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association Division III representative.
