Men's Basketball Picks up Win at Mountain View
DALLAS – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team beat host Dallas College Mountain View, 80-75, Wednesday.
It was the third straight Dallas Athletic Conference game for the Bears decided by five points, and the fourth in a row that ended in a one- or two-possession verdict. Brookhaven is 2-2 in those games.
Curtis Trey Moffett scored 21 points on 8 of 12 shooting, had seven assists, four rebounds, a block and a steal to lead four Brookhaven starters in double figures. Jackson Lino scored 16 points, shooting 8 of 10 from the floor, and had four rebounds and three blocks. Grant Jessen finished with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, six steals and two blocks. Khaleel Thomas had 12 points, three steals and a block.
Terrell Palmer added 10 points off the bench.
The Bears (13-9, 2-2 DAC) shot 56.6 percent, knocking down 30 of 53 field goals. Mountain View (13-10, 0-4) connected on 44.8 percent of its shots, going 30 of 67.
The Lions led by a point at halftime.
Mountain View's Evan Awodipe hit 7 of 11 field goals to finish with with 18 points, six rebounds and a block. Joshua Smith had 15 points on 7 of 10 shooting, 10 boards and three blocks. It was his 15th double-double of the season. Xavier Peyton scored 14 points to put three Lions' starters in double figures. Bryant Smith had 12 points, and Doviyon Bradford added 10 points and four steals off the bench.
Brookhaven hosts league frontrunner Dallas College North Lake (18-4, 4-0) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
