Brookhaven Opens Season With Team Effort
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer team kicked off its 2025 campaign with a 9–0 win over Allen CC on Friday, August 22, delivering a balanced, team-oriented performance at home.
The Bears struck early, with Alyssa Young (2 goals, 1 assist), Ava Little (2 goals, 1 assist), and Justine Garnica (hat trick, 1 assist) sparking a first-half blitz that also saw goals from Cierra Castillo and Daniela Bravo. In total, 13 different players contributed directly to goals or assists—including key setups from Kate Carlson, Brisa Hernandez, Kaitlyn Campos, Natalia Banda, Ariana Chavira, Arianna Luna, and Penelope Doria.
Brookhaven controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Allen CC 22–2, earning a 4–0 advantage in corner kicks, and finishing with 12 shots on goal. Defensively, the backline maintained a clean sheet, and goalkeepers Miranda Estrada and Harlee VanPelt combined to shut it down, allowing just two shots and making one save.
Looking ahead, Brookhaven (1–0) returns home tomorrow, August 26 at 4 p.m. to host Western Texas College at Dallas College Brookhaven.
